Guest
Just picked up all three brake hoses for my 1941 Century from OReily's. Part #s and price in photo. No shipping! In stock same morning pickup! Woohoo! Brought old ones in to verify exact replacement! Update! Wait 4 it! Inner bearing grease seals, in stock at NAPA and rubber lip seals instead of felt! 12.85 ea. See additional photo. Edited April 16, 2019 by Guest (see edit history)
Guest
Update on front brake work. Just thought I'd mention for those not aware, the spots on the front brake backing plate in the photo are the "pads" where the edge of the brake shoes fit against the backing plate. These spots develop slots from wear and vibration over time. These should be refinished smooth again as they can wear enuff to "catch" the edge of the brake shoes interfering with smooth braking action. After sanding smooth apply a thin coat of lube to help prevent further rusting and small amount of lube to reduce friction. I'm sure there are folks with further suggestions welcome as we are all ignorant, just on different subjects! Hope this helps with your project!
