Vista Cruiser Rears

Does the 71-72 Vista Cruiser use the GM corporate 8.5 rear? I am pretty sure that the 8.25 BOP was used thru 70, but am unsure about after that. I have a 69 Buick Sportwagon with a 2.93 open 8.25 and thought I might have better luck in locating a 3.23 posi from a Vista Cruiser. The Buick rear housings are a little different in the shock mounts and I thought the VC would be the same as it uses the same shocks. An 8.5 rear has better parts available as well.

Any info would be appreciated.
