JAB43
My dad is looking for some help. He currently owns a 1952 Ford F3 and a 3 ton Manley wrecker crane (9233 are on the crane as well). He’s working on restoring them and looking for instructions on how to properly mount the wrecker. Any suggestions on where I could find literature or who would be the best person to ask, like a mechanic or a welder?
leon bee
One thing you can do, if you haven't, is check out the Ford Barn. A lot of Ford truck knowledge there. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=
R Walling
The best way to mount it is to place it on two pieces of wood (2 x 3's) on the frame and use 4 large U bolts that go around the frame. Blocks of wood in the frame web at the U bolts prevent the frame from deforming. The wood allows for frame flex.
