Buick35
Hi,I posted this on Buick pre war but thought I'd try in general as well. I'm redoing my 35 Buick 40 series and my grille shell has two holes on either side that don't seem to attach to anything,or are they supposed to? Something missing? Before I covered them with screws and filled in the slots to make them look like rivets. Thanks,Greg.
oldford
Could be for wires to escape to the headlights... Frank
1937hd45
Do you remember how the hood moved when you opened and closed it? Maybe it moves forwards and there was a rubber bumper there to avoid chips & scratches. Bob
keiser31
Any welting between the fender and shell? This 1935 Series 41 has it. Maybe it's for that.... Edited March 18, 2019 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Buick35
It's forward of the fender welt about even with the fourth horizontal grille bar from the bottom on your picture. I like the color of your car. Mine was Douglas green,I think I'll repaint it in that so I won't have to do the firewall and door jambs.Greg. Faron Gabler
Looking for a grille for a 1935 buick? anybody have one they are willing to part with?
Paul Dobbin
I'm not real sure where that piece of steel goes, but it looks like spot for a rubber bumper to protect the hood from that sharp edge/, I have several places that look like that with rubber pads riveted to the two holes. It would be best to start your own post in the Buick Buy/Sell. Also state which series of car you have..
