Hi Dave, I saw a few years back, a photo of a celebration picnic in a park, near the Hamtramck plant, and I seem to remember that the Dodge Company had their own band....could that be the band in the photo?

Hello Alan,

Most big car companies had a company band during these years but not having found mention of it yet I didn't want to speculate since I didn't know for sure, I would be surprised if they weren't.

I would think they had a band too and if so, that would be the band playing for the send off.  Hard to say.

This film footage was on E-Bay a few years back, does anyone know where it might have gone to?

Thanks Jack, it is really a great project and I have found quite a bit over the last few years of searching.  I hope to begin putting the information I have into order so I can start getting the trips and the travels of the car into the order they happened.  A lot of work but a lot of satisfaction as well.  I have found that one never knows what might turn up as each day starts to will continue looking for anything that will help "fill in the blanks".

We know that the Dodge Brothers Eight-in-Line Marathon Car had a Phillco Transitone radio in it and from the looks of this close-up it appears that it had some early type of resistors mounted between the spark plugs and the wires. Can anyone shed any light on what company might have made them? Perhaps one of you might have an old one??

Dave,   I have seen resistors similar to these and may even have some around.  Great spotting, thanks.
