`34 Buick inline eight drivetrain(just noticed item SOLD)

Scratchin' my head a little here . . . but, except for the downdraft carb, this engine looks earlier than 1934.  The smooth, wingnut-fastened rocker cover and the absence of a cylinder head water manifold suggest a '31-'33 junior series mill -- ??

According to my book `34 50series engine is a 235.3 cu in 88hp, rear end looks to be mechanical brakes. Was `36 the first year for hydraulic brakes?

Yes about the hydraulic brakes. The subject engine has had the manifold flipped.
