Help ID engine found in the woods

Recommended Posts

Any numbers on distributor tag or starter  tag?

Any thing that might be an engine serial number?

Interesting looking motor, Over head valve or valves?

Is it sitting on a frame that looks like it goes with the engine? If so, photos of the frame may help identify the engine.

Are there any measurements to suggest how big it is?

Length of the block would help.

Are there any clues to the make of starter and generator?

Are there any casting marks which suggest the engine maker?

Looks like a tag on the starter and a partial tag on the distributor.

That is possibly our beat chance to identify it.
