32BuickVicky
Just a fair warning to anyone considering Smith's Classic Car clocks, the prices list on the website aren't what you'll be expected to pay. He will play games with you trying to screw you out of as much dough as possible. And if you purchase a clock and don't get it, it's because he backdoored you with another buyer. Here's the text message exchange for your viewing pleasure. This is what greed looks like folks. Admins can delete if not allowed.....just thought people needed a warning about this clown. By the way, I need a 32 Buick dash clock. 😉

Mr. Buick Vicky, you're doing your fellow hobbyists a great service. It would be a shame if the moderators would delete your warning. If people's bad experiences can't be told, sellers like this are being allowed to get away with their unscrupulous behavior. 1
John_S_in_Penna
For further protection for the hobbyist: If that man advertises in Hemmings Motor News, notify them of his practices. They will look into the situation and ban him as an advertiser. It's great that you even have documentation!
lancemb
I will be posting a warning about someone who advertises in the Bugle myself if I don't get resolution pretty soon...
Pete Phillips
I think I've got an extra '32 Buick clock, and it certainly won't be as expensive as this shyster's clocks! Will try to remember to look for it tomorrow. Pete Phillips Leonard, TX.
Morgan Wright
Tell him you'd gladly pay the $2000, then delay it a while and send $2000 in monopoly money. He will lose his other sale by then and have to relist it. Clocks like this go for a hundred or a couple hundred. All it does is keep time, and we all have cell phones for that.
kingrudy
I understand that some people make a living selling parts in this hobby, you wonder how some vendors sleep at night.
Guest
What I wonder more is why/how so many people fall for these obvious scams. Same thoughts about all the people that succumb to the telephone scams. "There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase closely associated with P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid-19th century, although there is no evidence that he actually said it. Early examples of its use are found among gamblers and confidence men. It is great that people keep sharing scams that they see.
Beemon
Sometimes these jobs show up in the form of sponsored vendors and you really don't know any better until its happened to you.
