Hearsecrazy
I am trying to identify the chassis that was used for my carved hearse. The chassis was right hand drive. The only part you brass cars guys might recognize is this oil gauge? That was mounted to the firewall. Thank you!
trimacar
It appears to be an oil flow indicator, Buick used one but it was a glass bowl (looks like a fuel pump bowl) that was inverted so you could see the oil moving. I don't know what car used the kind you show there, but one would think that someone does!
Hearsecrazy
That’s what I thought it was. Did early Cadillac use one like I have? Thanks for your response!
JAK
Quite similar to the one I had on my model 30 Cadillac1910
Hearsecrazy
I was wondering about Cadillac? Here is a photo of the firewall. Possibly a 4 cyl car.
brasscarguy
post a photo of the body. When I worked at Harrar's Automobile collection they purchased a Cunningham Hearse and the body was removed and sold as Mr Harrah said he would be riding in a hearse soon enough and did not want one in the collection. The Cuningham body was highly carved and very ornate. I was charged with doing the preliminary research when it arrived in Reno. Some of the research staff played a trick on me and took a hand off if one of the mannequins and hid it in the back of the body. As I was taking inventory of the parts I uncovered the hand which unnerved me while the staff were behind me laughing. Those were the fun days. just sayin' brasscarguy
