But decided it was time to not just build a new house but build the shop I've always wanted (and frankly. Now it's time for the full ground up resto. Attached are my notes on going thru the radiator and Shell. Also a technical article on going thru the motometer. dibarlaw Posted January 21, 2019 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Lebrandis Near Harrisburg Pa. did my 1925 shell. With tax it was $662. They quoted around $500 and gave me a 12 week turnaround. Actual turn around was 5 months. The shell that I had on my car was not rusted out but was very deeply pitted. I searched for a better shell and found one with almost no surface rust and most of the old plating. There were a few dents which I was able to work out. I also sanded and cleaned the entire inside to lessen prep time cost. I had the dumb-bell cap, hood hold downs, hood handles and a gage bezel re-plated at Niagara Plating. They did a great job. Their price was reasonable and turn around was less than 2 weeks. Frank Mance Plating near Pittsburgh PA. did my headlight reflectors in nickel then silver for both my Standard and Master. In 2013 it was $150 for the pair by 2017 it was $175 for the pair of the larger Master reflectors. I re-cored my radiator at over $900 with a modern core. There’s nothing like a well lit, comfortable space to work. Will you have to do woodwork on work on the car? I use a separate shop for my woodwork because that dust gets everywhere. Valve grind is done now just waiting on springs. Crankshaft block and rods on thier way to Hart's Machine in the AM for a little Babbitt work....
