SpecialEducation
An associate found this in the desert. Anyone know what it is or what it’s from? Edited January 14, 2019 by SpecialEducation (see edit history)
KongaMan
Looks like a step. Did Buick ever make a bus? Or a grate for the early coal-fired cars.

Larry Schramm
The step is from a 1915 Buick C-4 truck or a 1916 Buick D-4 truck. Passenger side. Same as drivers side, except the part of the fender indicates that it is passenger side. Typical of the passenger side, not worn very much. Also note that someone used a blue flame wrench to the step and cut the vertical support off. MrEarl
Wrong, it's the missing soap dish off David Buicks bathtub , I'm sure the museum would like to have it back. Seriously, I think it should be donated to the Buick truck guru, Larry Schramm, I bet he could use a soap dish in his garage 4
Mark Shaw
I like the soap dish idea.... Larry helped me find a nice pair now installed on my 1915 Buick Speedster. Edited January 15, 2019 by Mark Shaw (see edit history)

Ask in https://forums.aaca.org/forum/60-buick-pre-war/ I had considered posting this question in the pre-war forum because I very much expected it to be, but I didn't want to limit myself. It looks like the pre-war guys found me anyway, but if Speedo wants to move this topic over there, I won't be offended...
MrEarl
Speedo is fine with it just where it is, certainly a subject of "general" interest.
dons56
The guy who found it is willing to part with it. It doesn’t have much value to me except to hang on the wall. Of course special education has a birthday coming up... he could hang it on his wall... or use it as a soup dish... LOL. yes I know what I spelled... anyway, he wants me to make an offer... what would be fair?
KongaMan
No idea what's fair or what I'd use it for -- but I'd buy it if it were cheap enough.
Larry Schramm
Probably worth about maybe $10.00. A pair of two good ones sold for about $50 a year ago.

Only true value would be in a speedster of the like where Mark Shaw used some on his car.
8E45E
I wonder if Mike Yeakel in Bellingham would be interested in it, as he owns some early 'David Dunbar' era Buicks. Craig
