The pop ups are not happening on my iPhone. Sorry about that.

Here is a link to the first million in assets being auctioned off: http://burleyauction.hibid.com/catalog/154675/dicks-classic-car-garage-museum-auction/

The remaining 10 million will be auctioned at a later time.

From what I can see this initial auction is all pedal cars and various automobilia items.  I didn't go through lot by lot however , are there any cars themselves ?

This is what the text of the auction says (in part):

"Burley Auction is proud to announce the public auction of Dick Burdick's

car museum collection of select antique cars, signs, & memorabilia from

Dick's Classic Car Garage Museum in San Marcos Texas.  Featuring a

1929 Stutz Model M LeBaron Dual Cowl Phaeton, 1949 Oldsmobile 88

Deluxe Club Coupe, 1962 Austin Healy 3000, 1956 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria,

1941 Chevrolet convertible, 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe, 1941 Ford,

1943 Ford WWII Navy Jeep with Corpus Christi Texas history,

1957 Hudson Hornet second owner survivor in unrestored original

condition, 1937 DeSoto Sedan, & more.  Plus an extensive memorabilia collection..."

Thank you for sharing this, Victoria.  It's always interesting

to see what's going on in the hobby, and we probably

wouldn't have heard about if it weren't for you.

He had  quite a collection in his day, but he downsized when he moved to Austin. Now the really good cars that were left went to one of the Big name Auctions about 6 months ago.

His kids are selling the rest now to continue funding the foundation he set up.

Which cars were the really good ones that sold?

He had so many in Austin, I can’t imagine what else he would have had. What a collector.

It makes me sad to see this place closed. Here is a pic of dad there.

While camping in Maine, I met two men that were with their mothers. It was raining, so I suggested going to the local car museum.

After a few minutes the men wanted to leave, they said that there were nothing but old cars there!.

Their mothers, on the other hand wanted to stay and look at all the cars.
