John_S_in_Penna 1,544 Posted January 7 (edited) Congratulations on your purchase, Selim! Buicks from 1949 are beautifully styled cars. One productive thing to do is to join the Buick Club of America. Their monthly magazine is good, and has ads for Buick parts. You can pay to have it mailed to your country; and I think you can instead have it sent by e-mail. Buick fans help each other. You might want to introduce yourself in one of the Buick categories. They are on this same forum, but farther down the list of topics. ragtop4two 79 Posted January 7 That's a good looking car. My advice is to take the wife for an evening out and buy her flowers before telling her about it. Joining a Buick club would also be a good idea.
Tinindian 746 Posted January 7 Lovely looking car. With my '53 Buick's I could drive at or over the speed limit on any highway in North America. The standard transmission one would make 18 mpg on the highway (when driven sanely) and the automatic one would average 15 mpg. Absolutely beautiful on the highway. I used to use the std one in rallies and it was especially good in the "Spring Thaw" rallies in Manitoba.
60FlatTop 3,812 Posted January 7 You bought a Buick. Your need for spare parts will be minimal. You made a good choice. Bernie
1935Packard 160 Posted January 7 Lovely car! I have a similar '49 convertible -- a Cadillac, instead of a Buick, but similar. I agree with what others stated that joining the Buick club would be useful to learn about where you can access parts. But you can also find a lot of parts just by searching on the Internet: Many parts sources have an online presence and you can order parts and have them shipped from them. Just searching around, these seem like possibilities: https://classicbuicks.com/ https://www.bellbuickparts.com/ https://bobsautomobilia.com/ https://www.buickfarm.com/
