I am way behind. lol.. but I did add another 110 last week ( adjusted by the 10% = 100 more)_ so I am currently at 1.400 with the '56. However, congratulations Ben! And thanks for participating!
dei
Well, gathered a few more miles locally attending the Monday night Cruise-In. Still warm enough to leave the top down but winds were up to 35 miles an hour and more than a few had jackets on. The only other '58 Buick in Windsor came out tonight and people went from mine to his with some commenting they had never seen them before guessing if they were 57's or 56's but hey, that's part of the fun showing them off and educating. Had to wait till Tony came out and capture a shot or two of both cars. He has a very nice low mileage car but says he would trade me should I ever wish to... Sorry Tony, one of my boys will be getting it when the time comes. Had a bit of luck again on a draw for a lamp. dei
Kicked it up a few more miles tonight with the wife out and the weather being so nice. My friends brought their other cars out too. Not original but looks pretty good... Cruised along the water front stopping to capture the Detroit skyline. Parked with top down still.
dei
With having been away for my niece's wedding in Tennessee last weekend thought we would miss the last Monday night cruise-in of the year but as things turned out came home early and decided to attend (even though a bit tired). Glad I did as it was jam packed! Well over 250 cars and the McDonalds next door had to come over to say if cars didn't move out of their parking lot they would start towing cars in the next half hour... Didn't hear of anyone being towed but the night went on. The 50/50 hit a record high of 575 bucks and there were over 60 door prises drawn so most everyone was happy with the night. My ticket came up and received a kit with hammer, screw drivers and allen keys which will go in the garage. I know this Buick is a rod but it is nicely done. While walking around I overheard two guys talking about going to Erieau on a run for lunch next Saturday which Cindy and I did awhile back. I asked if it was open to anyone and was told to stop by the mans house to get a map and details before Saturday. Sweet, another road trip! With this night being close to home the trip odometer read 199.0 when parked in the garage.
dei
Got together Saturday after filling up for the group tour to Erieau. The first stop was at the A&W in Comber for a rest stop and coffee (if needed). Including us there were 12 cars and with introductions meeting a few new people we set out on the next leg. We brought up the rear of the group and enjoyed the scenery and view it presented. Arriving we all found parking plentiful and had a great lunch sitting with new friends and had great conversations. Leaving one can't ignore the risen water levels of Lake Erie and hope the raised berms and heavy armour rock can do it's job. Taking smaller roads we arrived in Chatham for the obligatory rest stop. The final leg of this trip was along the Thames River reaching to Lake St Clair and due to it's winding road didn't take pictures but was enjoyable at the slower speeds. Cars dropped of as we got closer to home and we stopped at the City Marina again for a picture before fuelling back up and parking in the garage for the night. Trip odometer now read this.

Bill Stoneberg
Went to Cars and Coffee at my church yesterday. Long ways from home, a whole 6 blocks for so. 30 cars showed up along with some bike. Most interesting car was a Brand New Vette that had to be towed home because it did not go into drive. Owner was not happy. Also there was a 1970's era Honda 350. Hondas back then were a good bike to have. Anyway using this to update milage 1206 miles this year. Probably won't make the goal but I still have 2 more months to try. 4
JohnD1956
Gassed up today with only 47 miles on the odometer. Making my total 1,447 so far. Did use it for a trip today but have to wait till later this week to fill it again. And I doubt I will make the goal this year. I may have run into a new problem with wheel bearings again. Sheesh!
JohnD1956
Replenished the gas supply from yesterday. Added 182 mile and subtracting my 10% adjustment puts me with just about 160 to add to the 1,447. So this lands me at 1,600 for this year. There is an outside chance for one more big trip tomorrow.
jackofalltrades70
I wasnt even trying this year as my top and windows were not working all year. Top works now still have to sort the windows. But, When I rebuilt the speedometer I reset it to zero. When I started this year had a little less than 500 miles. I turned over 1000 miles this weekend.
dship
Only drove 1076 miles this year in the Reatta...local car shows and cruise-ins. I put it in storage on October 3rd. Hope to do significant mileage next year as I intend to drive it to the BCA Nationals in Ohio along with local stuff.
Bill Stoneberg
So, I felt well enough this afternoon to take a short drive to a town called comfort and back...... about 30 - 35 miles. On this trip is a Mexican cementarty. They know how to do a grave sight. It is a celebration and they decorate accordingly. They have bottles of what the deceased drank, flowers, decorations and lots of other stuff. A total change from the dull boring cementaries we are used to.
dei
After a tough 5 days to complete contract work decided to get the Special out and take us for a ride. Stopped at my in-laws grave site to pay respects. It was a perfect setting to reflect on "our" inevitability. Stopped again for "a moment". Left for a drive in the county before heading home. The trip odometer now reads 348.0 miles.

EmTee
January 5, 2019: June 30, 2019: November 3 (today): I've put about 500 miles on the GP so far this year, so between the two I'm just about there...
JohnD1956
gas up Sunday: The trip odometer says 160 but with the adjustment that is only 144 more for a total of 1,744. Looks like that's it for this year. These are the remnants of Fall here. And I am not gonna make the challenge two years in a row. Oh well, I had a good time trying. 👍
dei
Quote Oh well, I had a good time trying. 👍 So close counts too John! 😉 I'll bet with using your other cars it adds up right? I hope to make a road trip over the Border soon to visit 95cardinal and 57buickjim before winter really sets in. That will likely signal my last trip for this year and spend time in the garage sorting out a few things on the Special for the National next year. With lots to do on the Limited to get it back together and being on the road, a bathroom to get to and finish plus doing any work that comes along, I won't feel I'm missing the driving fun too much. That will get me through the winter! Wishing you all the best.

Anyhow, poking around the neighborhood taking pictures won't cut it; and hiding from snowflakes won't either!
Bill Stoneberg
My brother came to visit as as he is a car person, we decided to take a drive in the Electra. I let him drive and I got to sit and watch the world go by. We went on the short loop of 35 miles from my house that has some freeway driving and lots of back roads, He was impressed by the countryside and how open it is around here. He should be as he live in San Francisco. We had stopped at on location and he was talking pictures of the Longhorns and the Belted Galloway cattle. He started to put his camera away and I asked if he had got any pictures of the Zebras that were out under the trees. He had not even seen them Anyway a fun drive on a Monday morning. Bill Stoneberg
Just when I thought it was all over, we have a nice day here today. Didn't have anything I really needed to do so took a ride on the longer loop that I use. About 65 mile putting me at 1360 for the year. Saw these two steers standing along the fence line. 2 1
dei
Winter here is always a mix of early snow, then dry with temps in the mid 40's then freezing cold, then snow... you get the picture. Friday the weather was dry and 4 degrees (sorry meant 42 degrees) after about a run of the same the previous three days. I used the excuse to drive the Special to a funeral viewing / celebration of life for a fellow Car Club Member. She fired right up with a bit of cranking to get gas back up in the carb with sitting for awhile. No picture of the speedo but it now reads 505.5 miles on the trip odometer. No issues with the trip so put her blanket back on and letting her sleep till better weather. Hope everyone has a Safe and Healthy Merry Christmas! 🎅👍🥂 Edited December 16, 2019 by dei (see edit history)
