New Bopok on Harley Earl, anyone read it yet?

I have one on order. but love to hear if you agree iwththe portrayal or feel they left anything out.? I think themore Ilook at Motorama cars the more of a genius I think he was. Here's the publisher's description

The book could be interesting reading.

I think the car designs of the early 1930's and the

mid-1950's--with probably at least some of his

influence--were the best, beautiful and graceful.

Just a few years later, though, his designs for

General Motors' 1958 models were heavy and

bloated, substituting trim for graceful form.

What was he thinking?


The Buick LeSabre show car on the cover I think

is an absolutely horrid design, of the heavy and

bloated school.  Any insights into his intentions

would be fascinating.
