Guest
*Reality Check* Cold solder joints have been with us since the dawn of solder. Im in the electronics repair business and Id say 35% of my business comes from repairing cold solder joints. Its not just GM its everyone. Guest tempest68
Sounds like a conspiracy to keep the electronics repair business going, then.
harry yarnell
Conspiracy, I don't think so. I too was in the electronic service business, and made a lot of money off of cold solder joints. You techie-types remember the GM stereo radios of the early '70s? Cold solder joints ARE a fact of life; ever consider the physics of a solder joint, and the heat, cooling, vibration forces on it? Guest wally888
Guess this is the reason for Cruise Control Switch failures! ( separation of wires at solder joints near steering wheel end of switch due to pressing button too hard, need to do gently!)
