Mark Kikta
Sorry I thought I was deleting an error in my typed response and I guess I deleted the entire topic. Sorry, I'm still learning it seems Morgan thank you for responding but It seems the rim you have is not the right size for my car. It's too wide it seems. Hugh, Craig did not have the right size rim either. I ordered one off Ebay that said 25" and was approx. 3 1/2 wide. Hopefully it will work. Thanks for your help. garnetkid
Darnnit! I just pulled up this thread to look at the wheel bolt chart that somebody had posted to copy it off to my buick folder. Can't remember who it was, but it would be nice if you could post it again, thanks. Leon

Mark Kikta
Hugh, Did you get some top saddles made for the top to fold into? I need two for my 22. Thanks, Mark
Hubert_25-25
Mark, I did order top saddles thru Myers Early Dodge. http://www.myersearlydodge.com They come from http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com Myers is the US rep. The top rest stud dimensions are attached. You may have had clamps for 1922, but they will be difficult to locate. Mark Kikta
Hugh I did not see them on their website. Did you just order the stud?
Hubert_25-25
Mark, Larry DiBarry made my rear seat iron stud on his lathe. A machine shop could make you a pair. If you use the saddles, then you need the leather pad and strap also. I plan to have antique auto top hardware make them. http://www.antiqueautotophardware.com/ Hugh
dibarlaw
Hugh: The "iron studs" I made for my car has 7/16"-14 threads. I had made a set with 3/8"-16 and they were quite sloppy. The 7/16"-14 is what fit. I made a set of stainless ones for Dave Blaufarb's 1928-25 that were a bit longer because the place that made his top bows made them wider than original. Your note "BE" from the parts book means (Black Enamel.). Your 1922-45 would have had the clamps not the rests. I was able to find a matching set for my cars. They fit the top on my 1925-45 better that the top on my 1925-25. I did purchase a mismatched set of rests that work on my 1925-25 and even there is an inch difference in the 2 rests it is not noticeable. Mark. Good to start looking for these little bits as you go. But in the scope of what is ahead. You have much bigger things to attend to. Again there is a fairly nicely restored 1922-45 in the MD area that we helped get running for the previous owner that was outside of Baltimore. I was contacted by the owner that bought it from the dealership that purchased it from that previous owner about a drivability issue. I asked if we could get together and see him and the car and find a solution and I never heard from him again. I will check if I still have his contact information. I informed him that the previous owner had A LOT OF SPARE PARTS for his car. None of which apparently went with it when the Boyle dealership bought it Vacuum tank was removed and he had an electric fuel pump. When the car went to Boyle's I do not believe the tank was re-installed and was just left in the pile of spare parts. Boyle's did install 5 new Goodrich Silvertown tires to replace the worn out, cracked, 50 + year old Firestone Non-Skids. The owner at the time said he used to drive this car on the Beltway at over 60 MPH!!!
Hubert_25-25
Mike, I replaced the rear seat stud drawing above with a later version that has the correct dimensions. I need Larry around to keep me straight. Top rest clamps do come up occasionally on Ebay. One thing to note. The top clamps that Buick used have a heavy round wire for the clasp. Not all clamps are done this way. Attached is a photo of RodW's clamp. Edited November 19, 2018 by Hubert_25-25 (see edit history)

Mark Kikta
Larry and Hugh, Thanks for all of that information. It seems like I'm worrying about details when I have so much BIG stuff to get done. But I am hoping to retire in the next 3 years or so and I want to get all the parts to make the car whole now if I can. Also I feel like the top bows etc are all together and I don't have a great place to store them for now. I think on the car would keep them safely out of the way, but I need something for them to rest on. My plan since the front fenders are already off, is to get the old gal mobile (New tires) and then take that water pump off before I do anything else with the motor. I looked in the gas tank which looks like new on the underside and looks super clean inside also. No sludge or crud of any sort that I could see. Mark Kikta
Hugh, I'm a bit confused on this but where did you say I could find this short style saddle? Thanks, Mark
Hubert_25-25
Mark, I have had "rollers" on the car, going on 3 years now. My tires are good for maybe 25 MPH. I bought a couple used tires. I would suggest buying new tubes as needed, and save the purchase of new tires for when you are actually ready to drive the car. These cars take longer to restore than you think. I want fresh rubber when I start driving. No flat spots and tires way past their DOT date. The saddle type top rests came in 2 lengths. It depended on the style of how the last top support was bent. The reason for using the top rests that have a drop is so that you can see behind in the rear view mirror. For now, I would just use two 7/16-14 bolts (6" long?) to hold the top in the folded position and just slightly elevated. In my case, I removed the top assembly and I will deal with it later. I am not sure how good your wood is that the top rest brackets screw into, just make sure it is not putting too much strain on things if you just use a straight bolt. dibarlaw
Hugh I think the word you are looking for as to the... Turned up (right) is Burbank. Generic term for the light colored topping material of the 1920s.

Mark Kikta
Hugh & Larry, I finally located the engine number of my car. Looks to me like this could be a 21 engine in a 22 car. Did they mix them up near years end? car serial # = 772608 Car model # 22-45 engine serial # = 735691
Hubert_25-25
Mark, The turn down style is the most common. The Burbank top was an optional extra or maybe an export thing. You may have a 1921 engine as 1922 started with 767948 engine number. Hugh
