55Bfred1752
The heater control valve on my 1955 buick Super is inoperative and needs to be replaced. If any BCA member has replaced this valve and can give me any pointers before I attempt the replacement, it will be most appreciated. 55Bfred1752

I recently joined the BCA and am not familiar with the workings of the forum. How do I go about searching "ranco valve" ? 55Bfred1752
old-tank
Sorry, this time of year I'm busy with Octoberfest performances and deer hunting/processing... Upper right hand corner of forum pages. Two choices: rebuild yourself HERE or have it rebuilt HERE 2
55Bfred1752
I have a NOS heater valve for my 1955 Buick Super. Any pointers I can get for removing the old valve and installing the new valve will be appreciated. I could not find any instructions in the shop manual for this job. It doesn't appear to be a difficult removal and installation but it is always helpful to get some first hand experience. 55Bfred1752
old-tank
Kinda one of those jobs that you just start doing it and it comes apart and goes back together. The only hard part is to watch that the cable is adjusted so that the valve is closed when the lever on the dash is closed. Don't throw away the old valve...it can be rebuilt at least one time and they ain't making them anymore.
