Can just the bearing be replaced?

Comments on following inquiry about replacing clutch on 91?

Arizona Mobile Air Inc.

Compressors retain a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty.

This is the manufacture's warranty and no labor claims or refrigerant

claims are issued.

Quote for 1991 Buick Reatta.

Sorry we don't have a clutch assembly available for your vehicle. We

sale the individual parts of the clutch so if you could find out what is

bad in the assembly then we could supply you with something.

Prices at Advance Auto:

Clutch $ 14x.00

Bearing 4x.00

All- Rebuilt Compressor w/ clutch $158.00

GM only used one pully bearing from the 60's until the newer models. So you can buy the bearing. But you may have to grind off the couple peaned spots and use a large socket to push the bearing out, then when installed, pean three different spots to hold it in..Much easier than it sounds..If you need the AcDelco part number, e-mail me and I'll give it to you, or just tell ackits you need the pully bearing.....Good luck

Still wondering what to do?
