Joe in Canada
Nice mixture of cars covering different periods from brass to performance. Always interested in this auction of cars as most are down to earth price range with even a few Ford Ts. Here are the results. https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/lots/hf18

auburnseeker
Did anyone actually look at those Cord Cabriolets? They look good in the one photo of each. Seems they were selling for less than phaetons bring and usually cabriolets are more desirable. Any thoughts?

Green one was nicer but funky color, added rumble seat, seat cushions looked weird, almost like they can from another car, dash was a mess... mike brady
I've driven the black cabriolet and while it is worn, it is a great driving, no stories car.

I was thinking wow the value must really be tanking on them, but a 200K car that needs 80K worth of work selling for 120, makes sense.

It was dinged and dented everywhere and when they went to drive it on the block it stalled at least 3 times driving it from the tent. The other car was just odd in a number of ways. I could see 120k for the black one and a bit more for the green one.
auburnseeker
That little sales picture made them look like number one or 2 plus cars. It's always nice to get a first hand report of true condition.
4Hud
There were some really interesting cars in the sale, many in the multi-cylinder category. If I had more $$ I would be happy with this 1930 Lincoln Town sedan at $51,000.
hidden_hunter
The early steam stuff was expensive, but someone got a decent deal for a later stanley - maybe there is hope I can afford one in my lifetime
