1952 "sombrero" wheelcovers?

On Ebay, I just won a set of 1952 Buick "sombrero" wheelcovers, which I didn't know to exist. I searched the web for photos of 52 Buicks, but all seemed to have those usual hubcaps.

Were these sombrero wheelcovers an option? They seem to carry the Buick crest, and are not as deeply dished as the Cadillac "sombreros".

Are thy made of Chromed Steel or Stainless?

Thanks for any info!

The "sombrero" wheelcovers were indeed available on '52 Buicks, in fact, I cannot recall ever having seen a '52 Buick without these--My '52 Super, when I owned it, had these. I believe they are stainless steel. I imagine they were an option on the cheaper '52 Specials, which would have had the hubcaps rather than these full wheel covers. The sombrero wheel cover is unique to the '52 Buicks. The '51 Buicks and the '53s have completely different wheel covers.
