If I swap my 6cyl w/ an 8 cyl in my 66 chevy what deductions will I receive? Can I put in a different year V8? My 6 cly block is cracked, rest of car all original.

Thanks

66 Chevy what? If the model was available with the 8 and if the swap is done correctly no one will know...of course, if you still have 6-cyl emblems on the car or it lacks V-8 emblems that were standard, someone might know! If the car is truely all original why not fix the six! Sounds to me you need to decide whether you want a show car or a driver....

If Chevy is judged the same as a Buick you will recieve a manditory 10 point deduction. This does not mean you can't have a V8 what it means is the V8 has to be from that year. Your chances of getting nailed are good. I almost got nailed on dual exhausts except I can prove that was an option for that year. The judging team usually has someone who will know your car. But as previous post said do you want something just to show or do you want to drive and enjoy your car.
