If the model was available with the 8 and if the swap is done correctly no one will know...of course, if you still have 6-cyl emblems on the car or it lacks V-8 emblems that were standard, someone might know! Guest brh Posted October 6, 2002 Share Posted October 6, 2002 If Chevy is judged the same as a Buick you will recieve a manditory 10 point deduction. This does not mean you can't have a V8 what it means is the V8 has to be from that year. Your chances of getting nailed are good. I almost got nailed on dual exhausts except I can prove that was an option for that year. The judging team usually has someone who will know your car.
