Fabulous collection.

With every car priced at what I would consider top dollar, I think it would be a long time selling all the cars through general advertising, particularly through Craigslist.  Looks like it would be best to have an auction if owner is serious about moving everything in a timely manner.

I'll take the '09 Pierce car and four cylinder Pierce motorcycle!

Every one of these cars are owned by Dick Shappy.

That is correct.

The guy claiming to own them runs www.vintagecarbuyers.com David 414-630-2853 his name on the AACA is Davlet.

Says he is Dick's partner and helping to sell the cars.

Why would Dick Shappy put his entire inventory on Craigslist?  That doesn't make any sense.

I don't think he did. I think this broker copied the list and is trying to represent the cars as his own. The broker told me they were his cars until I asked questions about them. Then they became his "partners". It seems like a case of a third party trying to make a quick buck off of another persons inventory.

Does the real owner, Dick Shappy, know what's going on

with this seller?  In my mind, the seller is dishonest,

lying about the true ownership until you caught him.

Anyone who knows Dick Shappy should alert him.

I just had a long conversation with Dick.  One of several in the last few days. To clear up a few things he did talk to David and mentioned that he could show a few of his cars. Craigslist was not what he had in mind.  As someone mentioned before David is a member and can chime in at any time.

Dick is a great guy.  He has great cars.  He is overwhelmed like many collector's with trying to be a jack-of-all-trades.  The internet is not his forte.  Neither is selling for that matter.  David offered to help it is just not the kind of help a guy like Dick needs.  Cue the intro LOL..

All is being sorted out nicely.  Like Dick said if David did not post that he never would have known there was a problem.  Out of every bad thing comes a little good.

Thank you to all your worm words.

If anyone still need more info or photos feel free contact me please. Or Dick

That's odd.  Because I talked to Dick and he had no idea his car's were on Craigslist or that someone else was promoting them.

Here is who you should contact:

Dick Shappy Classic Cars

Phone: (401) 433-7721

Who's phone number is that?  Dick is a friend of mine living 15 minutes from me (knows this thread) and I have his home, mobile and business numbers.  That quoted phone number is not one of them.  I dont think this thread is doing anyone any good.

I googled Dick Shappy Classic cars and it was the number that came up. My apologies.
