Old26Buick
Can I remove oil pan on my 48 Ford car without removing transmission ? Thanks
19tom40
Yes, but it is difficult to remove and replace with a good sel while the engine is in the car.

19tom40
Excuse my keyboards spelling. The word should have been seal, not sel. The rear oil pan seal is stiff cork. You can try a gasket cement like HiTack to glue it in place while you lift the oil pan back in place. Here is a link discussing the procedure. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=18&Topic=11880&keywords=remove oil pan
