Hi-Octane
Hey Folks, I'm excited about joining the AACA Forum! Lots of great material here, and some very knowledgeable people. I enjoy all types of cars, but have a soft spot for early race cars of the teens & 1920's. Many thanks, Billy Dunbar Jefferson, Luziana

John_S_in_Penna
Welcome to the AACA Forum, Billy! The AACA is a good way to enhance the enjoyment of your old car. Did you know that there is a tour coming up in your general area? It's the Sentimental Tour, as you'll see in this link. The AACA has various "national tours" each year, each in a different part of the country. Each is organized for cars of a certain age range, so you can travel at relaxing speeds with other cars compatible with yours. You might at least enjoy reading about it, but if your car is within the age range for this tour, they'd of course be happy to have you--and you'd meet many friendly car fans over the several days of travel! John_S_in_Penna
Billy, if that tour sounds good to you (and it surely will be a good tour), please know that the AACA has certain procedures for members to sign up for national events. You must be a member of the national AACA (an excellent value of just $40 a year). And for this tour, the sign-up opened August 1. I believe the sign-ups are only possible in August, and you should do it soon, because sometimes the tours reach their maximum allotted number of cars before the end of the sign-up period. You can call the national AACA office at (717) 534-1910 (Pennsylvania), and they'll be happy to send you forms to join AACA (if needed) and sign up for this tour. Explain that you're new (or new at touring) and they'll answer questions you have. Remember that the car you take must be within the required age range (1928 to 1958) for this particular tour. All the best to you. Edited August 8, 2018 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)
