Looking for a Driver/Car for Wedding Ceremony Entrance - Charlottesville VA

Hello,

I am getting married on Oct. 27th and am looking for someone who would be interested in donating their time and vehicle for my ceremony entrance. I could pay a small fee if necessary. I have a ball gown dress and would be with my father of course so we would need vehicle with a back seat. The wedding is at Camp Holiday Trails - a summer camp for kids with medical needs. (they have an awesome program). The venue is down a dirt road and the ceremony is in a field. So you would have to be okay with that environment. We would need your assistance for about 30 minutes total and of course you would be welcomed to join the ceremony viewing if you like. I would love to take a few pictures with the car after the ceremony if possible. You would be credited as the owner of course in any public use of the photos with your car. The ceremony is at 4pm. If you are interested in helping me out please contact me at maribelstreet25@gmail.com

Thanks in advance.

I wish you luck but keep in mind what owners have invested in a high dollar restoration. $12,000 paint jobs don't mate well with belt buckles, high heels, and unpaved roads. If you specify "Driver" class old car then responses may be better. We have a "driver" Taxi that was built to be used for proms and weddings with the usual fee of $125 which of course wouldn't even begin to cover any damage to the exterior or interior but in a small town ( pop. 635) there is a real need for such. Not a discouragement but a window onto how many feel about their "Babies". Picture of Prom Taxi.

Many people are happy to help brides and grooms

make memories with an old car at a wedding.

It's just a matter of finding one.  You should be prepared

to recompense people suitably for their time--please don't

expect people to "donate" to you.

Maribel, while you're waiting for a response here, it

may be more fruitful to contact a local AACA "region"

directly.  The AACA is a national organization, but it has

local groups all around the country where people can

participate with people in their area.  You should look at

the list in the link below and find the region nearest you;

then contact the president or some other officer of that

region directly.

People are usually happy to help, but to overcome others' inertia,

it is best to follow up once or twice after your initial contact:

May you have a beautiful wedding which you'll remember all your life!

The last fellow that I know that USE to do weddings quit. After the bride took him to court for a $3,000. wedding dress that she supposedly got grease on from the antique car. She lost but it still cost John legal fees.

I guess before you do someone a favor you need a million dollar liability policy, a multi page release from liability form signed in triplicate, notorized, and an attorney on speed dial..........Oy Vey...............Bob

Maribel, congrats on your wedding.   As some of the responses suggest, this is probably something that will seem like a pretty big ask for a car owner.  The person has to drive to your wedding, wait for the right moment, do the driveaway, wait for pictures, drive back, etc.  Add in the dirt road and it's a hassle.  One thought, in case it helps: Does anyone attending your wedding own an old car?  If so, you might ask them if they would do this as a wedding gift to you.    I once did this for a friend whose wedding I was attending, and it worked out really well.
