GaryBudd Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 What a thrill it was to get to drive the car today.Still more work to do.I have some drift in the steering.Checked front end seems to be good,is there an adjustment I could make to take some of this out?
keiser31 Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 A good front end alignment will probably do the job. 1
Spinneyhill Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 What do you mean "drift in the steering"? Play in the wheel? Things affecting play in the wheel are steering box adjustment, steering box wear and steering componentry wear. Drag link ends, tie rod ends, king pin wear, loose wheel bearings. Not affecting play in the wheel are front end alignment - camber, castor and toe in. There is some adjustment available for steering box wear, but not much: column up-down, sector shaft in-out, sector shaft up-down. The how-to is in your Instruction Book. If you need the instructions I can post them for you from the Dodge 8 Instruction Book (which will work if you have a Gemmer box). I am sure they have been posted before. 1
GaryBudd Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 Spinneyhill, Please post instructions. Thanks Gary
