Old26Buick
Is there a better rear oil pan gasket than the cork one? seems I read somebody makes a rope type gasket for rear of oil pan like the front one. Thanks Edited July 22, 2018 by Old26Buick (see edit history)
19tom40
The rope seal was used in some of the 24 stud engines. It requires a crank shaft without the slinger and 2 pot metal pieces to hold the seal. You will still need the cork seal that goes in the rear main bearing cap.
DavidAU
A bit late I know but if you have the chance this is the BEST oil seal to fit in the front of a flathead engine. Fitted properly ( look on U tube how to fit a flathead oil seal) they work better than any other type of seal. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Search?query=Flathead oil seal&originalQuery=Flathead oil seal
