Rivman Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) I posted this on the main AACA Towing Needed forum, just thought I would try it here too. I’m looking to get a 1970 Buick Riviera hauled from Mobile, AL to Sophia, NC. The car runs and drives but it has been a while since it has been on the road so I’m just not sure about driving it home. According to Google maps it is right around a 650-mile trip. Enclosed trailer not required. PM me with price, if you are available, or if you know of a good person to contact. Any assistance would be appreciated. Edited July 10, 2018 by Rivman (see edit history)
38Buick 80C Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Randall, if no one here is any help try McNutt Auto Transport. They are brokers but I've had 2 good experiences and they are fair on pricing for commercial open trailers hauling. google them 1 1

I have a call into them now, their quote was very reasonable, and they said they could have it picked-up on or about Thursday. 2

I had posted this on the ROA forum and Bill was suggested there too. I did check with him and he is tied up through Sep 1st as of right now, I'm just not sure I can wait that long. Thanks again,
NC-car-guy Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 I usually haul my own, but one time I had a car hauled GA to NC and used K&D Bates out of Bishop, GA. I would have posted sooner, but I just found their card. They were very reasonable. 706- 769- 5525 doylebates@bellsouth.net 1 1
Rivman Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 I thought about renting a trailer and doing it myself, but, my '01 1/2 ton GMC, with high miles, kind of worried me, then the thought of the trip with NO A/C pretty much changed my mind. And, for the price I found, it wasn't really worth it for me to do it myself. 2

Very reasonable, and, even though I thought they were just talking a good story when I first called, they got it completed in short order, the car was delivered today. 4

I had not seen the car for over 10 years so didn’t know its current condition, I was just told I needed to get it moved, so that was the reason for the quick transport request. 3

Na, this one wouldn’t have stayed at Buick Gardens, it needs lots and lots of WORK, if it’s even repairable. I have to decide what I’m going to do with it now that it’s here. I had thought about checking to see if you would pick it up from Mobile and take it home, then I could come and pick it up from Buick Gardens. I looked at the map and saw that Atlanta was right at half-way and I know you are fairly close, AND it would have given me a chance to see Buick Gardens in person too! 2
