Dalt Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I have 1962 Buick Electra 225 The car has been sitting for a while in storage I recently replaced all brake shoes and brakes Cylinders also bleed the brakes. However the brake pedal stays to the floor. What are the options for fixing the problem?
JFranklin Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Did you adjust the shoes to fit the drums? Did you replace or rebuild the master Cylinder? How did you bleed the brakes? You may need the help of a brake shop to sort things out. 1
TerryB Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Sounds like air is still trapped in the brake lines. Did you start the wheel bleeding at the farthest cylinder from the master? Is the master still full?
D Yaros Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Pedal all the way to the floor seems to indicate no pressure. No pressure may be due to a leak in the vacuum booster?
GARY F Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Just my 2 cents, but I would replace every item in the brake system, all lines, hoses, master cyl. etc. I just did this to my 63 GP and I touch the brake and could go through the windshield
