Those parts have been for sale for quite a while. Parts are from assorted years. I won’t comment as far as price goes.......and he probably won’t get anyone to buy the entire lot...........29 parts are common, and not that easy to sell. Thanks for posting! Ed

Kind of like alot of the Cord engines I see for sale.  I had the chance to buy a large lot of parts,  but way more than I needed or wanted and the Cord guys at the factory told the seller those 3 extra water pump cores were worth 300 a piece. They might be from them when someone really needs them,  but to someone that needs one they really don't want to buy 20G worth of parts to pile in the corner when all they need is a fraction of them.  They had lots of multiple cores  like that.  I have a pile I have moved a few times already I have been half tempted to throw away and I haven't even started converting mine back yet.

Ebay is one of the best selling places for single car items, but fairly expensive when fees are added up. Last year I decided to be more aggressive in my non-car business and for every $1,000 I figured I got from extra effort, I would throw out what I figured to be $200 of Ebay sales. Most were listed but unsold items. Logical, methodical, and sometimes hard to do. Cast iron goes across the scales at a price that hardly pays for gas, but the value of each square foot gained is greatly appreciated.

With the hobby changing so fast, people don't seem to understand that parts hoards are not nearly as valuable as in the past. Add in that most of the stuff one comes across is old take off junk, and thats why its sitting in the garage, people just don't want to be realistic about piles of parts. I have a GREAT 29 Pierce car, sorted and running strong, that anyone would be proud to own for a little more than twice what he wants for that pile. Turn key reliable driver.......... so I think its gonna be a long time before he sells that stuff. Also, he his probably banking a big return on the parts to justify the new build. Unfortunatly, thats no a good plan any longer.

A good Cord water pump casting for $300.00 is a deal.   You won't find one at Hershey or Auburn for that price.  Like Ed said.....check carefully that it is not cracked.

Well he has a bunch of them..  How many cords still need water pump housings?  Most that are Cords still have them and they can be rebuilt if need be.  I think that's part of the fantasy with some desirable cars,  is that these parts are a fortune if I have to buy them, so when I can buy them for any less than that 300 I will hoard all I can get.  Eventually all of the ones left to restore worth restoring will be rebuilt,  the cars will be sold to guys who don't hoard parts and probably don't work on their cars or even drive them, then some guys will have a pile of stuff that they find out doesn't move real fast at those higher prices. 

Just my take on it,  but I see it more and more.  I used to sell old parts exclusively for a living for 10 years until recently I found a better line to concentrate on.  I saw it change from you could sell almost anything old for good money,  then it got to the point it had to be super nice to sell,  then Pretty much NOS ands even that has dropped off enough,  that I wholesaled 95 percent of my inventory kept just a small stash to sell,  and moved in a different direction.  I was tired of tripping over piles of "valuable crap" that nobody wanted.  I let someone else dig in that pile and try to find some gold.  I hope they did,  but with the changing market it

s a lot more work.
