mickthecat 4 Posted June 4, 2018 Someone told me this was from a 1950 VW Beetle. It is quite small, maybe five gallons max. And I have no idea what this little clip mechanism is that's attached to one side. Has the large filler neck like an early Bug. Any ideas?
Fleek 83 Posted June 4, 2018 Not a VW expert, but if it is, the lever might be to activate the reserve fuel tube they used instead of a fuel gauge. When running out of fuel, you would flip the lever to get the extra gallon of fuel so you could make it to the station.
JACK M 945 Posted June 4, 2018 Is the yellow part on the bottom the only place that would deliver fuel? Looks like a plastic plug. And is that lever thingy in line with it? A cable maybe? And would this tank install where that lever would be accessible to the driver?
Grandpa 72 Posted June 4, 2018 Not VW bug. Too small a capacity.
