ol' yeller
Hey, he saw one just like it go for more on Barrett Jackson. Well maybe it was a Cadillac, an Eldorado, and a convertible, and a few years newer but this one is almost the same.
stealthbob
Agreed, the Barrett Jackson effect is strong with this one...

Mark Simmons
While I'm thinking this car is a gold mine when finished at the present price all you'll get is the shaft. 2
60FlatTop
Their completed listings shows it was no sale at $4900. So they may have meant $4500. If that is true feel lucky it wasn't me selling it. No sale at $4900, I would have raised it to $5500 to increase it's credibility.

I used to try to sell my big 24x30 limited edition color prints at $700, no sale. Raised my price to over $1000 and sold quite a few. 60FlatTop
I have been called an artist, of sorts, by friends whom have seen me do that.
auburnseeker
I've never had luck raising prices to sell stuff.I'm pretty sure Matt and a few of the other dealers here haven't either, but then again people bidding to buy real estate at higher than the asking price has always baffled me as well. (what that really tells me is your Agent didn't know what they were doing when you contracted with them to sell it as they must have underpriced it)
39BuickEight
When I was a wholesaler I would raise prices on old inventory and it usually helped move it. It would at least generate questions.
lancemb
I asked if he accidentally added a 0 and reply was: No, ebay did. The correct price should be $4,250.00.

Elpad
This car also a little bit over price https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2014/12/19/howard-hughes-record-setting-1953-buick-roadmaster-heads-to-auction/ Edited June 7, 2018 by Elpad (see edit history)
