Wanted For 1928 Stutz - Spring U bolts

Need 4 front and 4 rear spring U bolts for a 1928 Stutz. These are 5/8 x 18.

AJ should have the front ones off the parts chassis he bought......if he didn’t junk them.

Exactly.   Actually, since the rear was swapped with an Auburn 2 speed I don't think I ever had those parts.  I probably had the front U bolts but do not think I have them anymore.

I'm going to help a friend sell off a warehouse full of Stutz parts. I saw a box full of U bolts.  I'll take a look this week.

Nothing new from my side - - no spring u bolts and no pictures from a warehouse - - darn.

I HAD SOME MADE BY A SPRING MAKER HAVE A LOOK A SOME OF THE KNOWN SPRING MAKERS IN THE USA AS THEY OFFER U BOLTS

Simple to make if you're a machinist.

 

Start with square steel bar.  Turn each end round and thread.  Shape remaining square bar to rounded top cross section as needed. Heat and bend over a mandrel to make a "U".

Thanks for the suggestions . Went ahead and used the ones I had, look ok with a little extra work and some filler.
