Engine shuts off

If it died like you turned the key off while driving at speed, it's electrical most likely bad points and condensor.

If it started slowing down and losing power but still ran and then died, it is a fuel delivery problem.

Possibly fuel starvation ?

On my '68 the aged, old rubber fuel line hose would collapse and cut off the fuel flow to the mechanical vacuum fuel pump -

replacing the old rubber fuel line with new rubber fuel line solved the problem !

Just in case...

When you swapped to the MSD did you bypass the ballast resistor to supply a full 12v switched power to the unit? The stock coil + wire uses a resistor to cut the voltage back to save from burning points. You do not want that with an HEI or MSD.

Up date it appears that my coil was not getting correct voltage therefore shutting off the engine, I will continue to test but the car has not stopped on me!!! Thx for all the input!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for letting us know how this played out. Much appreciated.
