It's a Roadmaster 4 holer sedanette but I can read SUPER on the front fender which should only be a 3 holer.

Very desirable model but it is a bit pricey and looks like there may be some rust issues with sitting out in the weather the way it is.

No dents?  What's that just below the left headlight -- custom body work?  Manual transmission?  In a Roadmaster?  I wonder if this gent is referring to a different car.

On second thought . . . this COULD be a stick-shift job, because it's clearly a Super with an extra porthole added.  On a real Roadmaster the forward hole is about even with the front end of the side brightwork and about halfway between the front and rear ends of the front fender.  On this car, the clearly added front porthole is much too far forward.  Would be interesting to know whether the seller is representing this car a Roadmaster.

50Jetback, you have a great eye.  And I compared the front fender of that car to snapshots of my Roadmaster.  The car in the ad is indeed a Super!  That fender is too short between the trailing edge of the wheel well and the cowl.  The forwardmost porthole should be directly above the leading edge of the stainless spear.  That car has an extra porthole grafted on that is too far forward.  Actually, if you look very critically, the grafted one looks a smidge lower than the others.

I walked by a 1950 Fastback on my way to school everyday and that was about 1990,  Watching it slowly deteriorate in front of a one car garage.  That's up state NY as well so it was a pretty rare sight indeed.  Really broke my heart as I was about 15 at the time. It was for sale but of course priced at about twice what all the others I had seen in traders were priced.  I'm not sure if it was a super or a Roadmaster.  It eventually disappeared.  Why are they always parked in front of the garage or beside it and never in it?  Seems when they are , there is never a good car being saved in the garage.  Usually just a bunch of junk.  I would have loved to have bought that car and got it on the road to drive to school.

Seems the one above is atlas overpriced X2.

Wow Buickborn!  Talk about great minds with the same simultaneous thought!

Well, SBRMD, I'm not sure I can claim to be in the same "great mind" category as you appear to be.  If I were, surely I'd have been able to lay my hands, as you have done, on a '49 Roadmaster -- that is, a sedanet or Riv.  I've been looking for a decent, affordable one for many years with no luck whatsoever.  Got any smart pills?

Haha!  I think my wife might have a different opinion......

Life is all about timing, isn't it.  Got lucky, pure and simple.  Right place right time.  Tell you what though.....definitely not letting go!

What a situation... Obviously the guy has a case of "Barrett Jackson Syndrome".  But sure would love to have one like that!

Yea the seller doesn't mention in the ad....  he/she could be ignorant to the differences or they may have motives to deceive someone who is.  I hope it's the former

Interesting, my Son's high end 18 year old Buick has been sitting here all winter.

I wonder if some kid has been walking by, drooling over it on the way to the library.

He can't drive it because a light came on showing the transmission shifts are too long and it might contribute to destruction of the Earth. At least that is what the SCUD missile launching government told him.

Gotta throw some branches and leaves of it so I can post it on Craigslist for $400. I am not letting it stay long enough to sink into the ground so I might have to jack it up and dig out some holes under the wheels. Oh, yes, and take some pictures at night.

I have been observing how to sell on Craigslist.
