Matt Harwood Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) *SOLD* I don't like dealing in absolutes, but I'm pretty sure this is the nicest 1969 Olds 442 in the world. Look at the pictures--pretty hard to find fault. Comprehensively restored by a fellow some of you may know and a multiple award recipient through the AACA judging process. Original color combination of Trophy Blue with a Parchment top and interior. Matching-numbers 400 cubic inch V8 with matching-numbers TH400 automatic transmission, and I've checked the numbers personally. Exceptionally well detailed inside and out, workmanship is over-the-top in just about every way. The only fault I can find is that the clock doesn't work. Oh, and they used a modern mandrel-bent exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, but it sounds pretty wicked. I get that it's a 2-door Sport Coupe, bench seat, automatic, but someone put all the blood, sweat, and tears they could muster into this car and it shows in every single nook and cranny. I don't label many cars as #1 quality, but this is very, very close. You will never see its equal and it's a walk-on first place winner at virtually any show in the known universe. I'm sure there will be a nit-pick or two from Oldsmobile experts, but there's no denying that this is a superior car in every way. Great colors, runs superbly, and the quality is truly spectacular everywhere you look--there's no way it was this nice even the moment it rolled out of the factory up in Canada. It is nicely documented with a partial build sheet, reproduction window sticker, restoration receipts, and a photo album. Even at the asking price of $79,900, there's no way anyone came out ahead on this restoration. The absolute best 1969 442 there is and one of the best cars I've ever seen, period. Nobody ever regrets owning the best. Edited August 7, 2018 by Matt Harwood (see edit history)
