Matt Harwood Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Mostly original car in fantastic shape. Front fenders and hood repainted 20 years ago, the rest is original black enamel and man is this sucker straight! A few thin spots on the rear deck, but don't you dare repaint it. Nice chrome throughout, almost no pitting, some discoloration above exhaust, but nothing major. Beautiful original interior in charcoal and yellow. One or two popped seams, but again, too nice to replace. Everything works, including radio. 3-speed manual with working overdrive, has been converted to floor shift but could easily be switched back because the column is still intact (handle removed). New black power convertible top and boot. Accessory continental kit and fender skirts. Appears to be the original GL-coded 265 cubic inch "Power Pack" V8 which runs superbly, idles almost silently at 500 RPM, good oil pressure, no issues. Original power steering car, now fitted with a modern low-pressure Saginaw system but original components, including generator/pump unit, are included and the system was functional when removed. Original underneath so it's crusty and grimy, but this is one tight, smooth, comfortable '50s ragtop on the road. Don't restore it, just drive and enjoy it. $64,900, ready to enjoy immediately. 1
