CPR lists a black/white one and orange one for same year. Trying to keep original. The current cleaner had been painted and didn't have one. Summershandy Posted March 6, 2018 Author Share Posted March 6, 2018 Got the decal from another seller. He gave the wrong dimensions. There seems to be 2 styles of air cleaner. A larger surfaced one and mine that has a seam across the middle. What I'm going to do is cut the decal in half and put the instructional one on the cleaner. The other only advertises PONTIAC MOTOR DIVISION and can be placed anywhere. If anyone notices the change then I'll buy 'em a beer! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PONTIAC1953 Posted March 17, 2018 Share Posted March 17, 2018 the big white decal is correct for the standard air cleaner, the colored kidney bean shape decal is correct for the optional larger heavy duty air cleaner, this decal goes on the lid. Summershandy Posted March 17, 2018 Author Share Posted March 17, 2018 Now that you mention it, when I was stripping the paint off the cleaner I came across a ghost of a decal that looked orange and had that shape. I shook my head thinking the PO just spray painted over it. I like the idea of originality, would it be wrong in placing "unoriginal" decals where they don't belong?
