Pete Phillips
Anybody else notice that the seller says it has a 248 rebuilt engine? I don't believe the 248 came out until 1937, in which case this car has the wrong engine or else the owner doesn't know the correct size of the car's original engine. Yes, it's a beautiful car. Correct Pete, should be a 233. Looks to be a 233 so I'm thinking the owner doesn't know.
critterpainter
Does not look like a 36 Valve cover or a 36 push rod cover. 36 didn't have the oil fill on the push rod cover. That was either 37 or 37, don't remember which

That was either 37 or 37, don't remember which Series 40 233ci motors ran 1934, 1935 and 1936 and all had the oil filler on the push rod cover. On this motor the aluminium filler cap has been replaced with a later model cap. The valve cover looks a bit odd at 1st glance but it is 1936. Someone has bolted something to it as there are 4 additional bolts on the rear section - I can't imagine what that could be.

50jetback
This is a Century 66C which is claimed to be Cardinal Maroon which was an original colour. Not nearly as bright as the fire engine red of the 46C - which I don't really mind. But I can't really talk - I painted a 1934 Buick Roadster a fairly bright red!!
