Wood spoke wheels 26DB vs 27DB

The wheels on my 26 DB have an outer split ring held on with wheel clamps. Does anyone know if there is a mounting difference between 1926 models or 1926 vs 1927? I have four wheels from a 1927, none of the wood is any good but the tire mountings are very usable. They appear to be the same size diameter wise as what is on my car now but the mounting is a split rim that does not use a separate outer split ring. Both types are held on by the standard square wheel clamps. If they are interchangeable - the split rings I now have are not in the best of shape plus I need a spare. 

If my terminology is wrong or I am being confusing I will post pictures tomorrow.
