Morgan Wright Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I have two E-49's both with 242 engines and they are supposed to have the same water pump. They don't. The first pic has the type you usually see. Can anybody identify the second one?

Morgan Wright Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 There is only one water pump for all E-H-K 6 cylinder engines:
dibarlaw Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Morgan: Looks to be something cobbled up with whatever would work. All Buicks of the period had the timing gear shaft go through the water pump. It looks like this was used as a power source for the farm. 1
hidden_hunter Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 The bottom one looks a lot more homemade than the top one (particularly the welding) - perhaps it has been adapted from something else? Don't always trust the parts book, we had the same thing with the 1926 where we found at least 3 variations of the pump casing 1
