Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
66 was the last year for the 401, but it seems like I have seen 2-4bbl setups on these cars. Are they on the 401 engines? Were they built by Buick that way or were they dealer installed? Just trying to fill my head with more Buick trivia, as always.
------------------
Ted Nagel
65 WildcatConvSuperWcat
65 WildcatAutoSuperWcat
65 Wildcat4spdSuperWcat
65 Riviera Wildcat 445
65 Special Wagon 455
70 GS Stage1 4speed
66 Fleetwood Brougham? palbuick
Yep 1966 was tle last year for the Nailhead, 401 or 425.
The 64 Riv was the first to have the 2 x 4 set up, the wildcat also had the same set-up.
Then there were the odd balls, I had one a 1964 LeSabre 4 dr Station wagon with the 401 and factory 2 x 4's. I have seen a couple of other wagons with the 2 x 4's.By far 1965 and 1966 were the most popular years for the 2x 4's. I have production figures fromBuick on the 66 Wildcat GS'S that only 7 were ordered from the factory with the 2 x 4'S, all the rest were dealer installed.
If I am wrong in any of this I'M sure Roberta will have correct figures and information.
JIm Schilf / palbuick@aol.com
