Dosmo
I found this photo on Facebook in the group "Motorology". The text below accompanied the pic. Cadillac 1942 Pick-up . Only19 ex built, this one for a Las Vegas casino; Sold in an car auction in feb 1992 in Paris I have heard of the General building trucks on Buick chassis' from the late 1930s to early 1940s. It seems like trucks of this sort were typically used as parts runners for the factories. I have a feeling this vehicle might be a one-off not associated with the factory, at all. But, since the post makes the claim that 19 were built, I wanted to throw this out to the forum and see what you guys have to say. Is this a factory built vehicle?

edinmass
With such poor lines as it has I would be shocked if it were factory built.
Rusty_OToole
There were a few flower cars built for funeral homes on Cadillac and other luxury chassis, as new cars. This isn't one of them.
Restorer32
Not a chance this was factory built.

I have seen the truck a few times. Actually there were 6 trucks made. They were 1940 models. They were made by Buick Engineering for testing and "yard cars" meaning for use around the Buick complex in Flint. I believe that only one survives. This article says 4 made but I believe I have read in other places six. Here is an article on the trucks. https://buickman2.wordpress.com/2013/12/09/1940-buick-roadmaster-pickup/
Spinneyhill
Studebaker made an Coupe Delivery in 1940 using the Champion coupe. Remove the boot lid and slide in a well side, a bit like that Buick appears to have started in the designers' minds.
