Pete Phillips Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Working on my 1958 Special 4-door hardtop station wagon. It has been too long since I took it apart and most of the window reveal molding clips were rusted to oblivion anyway. On the rear quarter window, bottom molding below the glass, what kind of clip goes in there to attach the exterior molding? I cannot access the back of it when the clip is inserted into the hole, so it has to be some sort of press-fit. And it cannot be too long or it will hit the interior window garnish molding, and I would have to drill a longer hole for it anyway. Body manual is of no help here. I am talking about the small holes along the bottom of the quarter window in second photo. And it's an old question, but has anyone found a substitute clip for the exterior moldings around the upper tailgate glass? Pete Phillips, BCA #7338 Leonard, Texas 1958 model 49-D and other Buicks....
95Cardinal Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Pete, this is the best photo I have. The quarter reveal moldings snapped onto the small clips. The clips are screwed into the quarter panel. I think the screws are #8 flat head philips.
Pete Phillips Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 Joe, Perfect! That explains it all, many thanks. Pete
