t23 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Does anyone know if they make a rubber seal for the pinion gear on 1936 dodge P/U. I have had no luck with the leather ones.
jpage Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) What problem are you having with the leather seals. I've used then with no issues. If you have the correct measurements of the original seals, you could try a good bearing house to see if there might be an interchange, but I think that most of those seals are now obsolete. If leakage is a problem, check the outer sealing surface of the yoke. If it' s worn or grooved , it will have to be repaired for a good seal. This can be done easily with a speedy sleeve kit. If the seal doesn't fit the housing properly, try one of the obsolete bearing and seal houses, just because a vendor claims that the parts are for your vehicle, many times they are just poor substitutes.
