Guest tonymindling Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 My Mom again. They were married in 1939 and soon drove from Chicago to San Francisco where I was born. They would have driven this car.
Guest tonymindling Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I guess the photo would help ... thanks very much for looking
ply33 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Its a 1939 Plymouth, so it would have been a brand new car at the time. I am not as familiar enough with the details of the '39 model to tell if it was the Road King or higher trim DeLuxe model. Based on the chrome around the windshield and accessory bumper override in the center of the front bumper, I'd lean toward the DeLuxe.
Dave Mellor NJ Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 It predicted the future with those square headlights. Only that year.

Good composition, focus, lighting, exposure, etc. And I don't see much film grain so I expect the negative was fairly large format, not just a Brownie Camera. Was your father the one who took the picture? 1
Brass is Best Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 First year for column shift on the Plymouth.
