cahartley Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Why am I posting this here? Because I don't want too many people to know about it (yet) and this is where the AACA Powers That Be should see this. "We" just finished our work babbitting hinged connecting rods for the above named cars engine, a two cylinder opposed. I was told by the fella from another machine shop, for whom I did the work, who has the car this is one of three that exist and will be the only operational one. I mention this to see if the AACA would be interested in pursuing this subject.
Steve Moskowitz Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Not sure what you mean by pursuing but we sure hope the owner is a member and we will get to see the car at shows. It also might make a great story in our magazine some day. Anxious to see what body style is being used. 1
cahartley Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 Thanks Steve. The magazine is what I had in mind. I'm fairly certain it's very similar to the top one in the illustration I posted. All I actually saw was most of the engine. The car will reside in NW Wisconsin.
Steve Moskowitz Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Tell "whoever" to write a great story and have hi-res pictures. The story should be as much about how the car was found, restored etc instead of a LOT of detailed facts. Stories have to educate and entertain. That is what most of our members enjoy. Send it to West at stelvioGT@yahoo.com 1
West Peterson Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 The owner needs to be an AACA member. For consideration of getting on any of the four covers, photos need to be very good quality, and make sure you turn the camera sideways to get a vertical shot.
cahartley Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 I have my doubts as to the owner being a member of anything but I'll surely find out. I just spoke with the other mechanic who will ask the owner if he even wishes to be acknowledged........you know how some people are. The other Craig (mechanic) said it is a restored car but not a lot of provenance.
