Guest gtam4 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Found this in the woods behind our house. Thought it was an old hood ornament, but seems a bit big for that. Have spent hours searching the internet trying to figure out what it is and what car it belongs on. Any ideas?

Guest gtam4 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wow. Thank you! We will have to venture back out to see if the other one is there as well.
Guest gtam4 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Thank you both. We have found lots of old parts out in the woods and have been able to identify all of them until this one. Cool to see all these pieces of history.
Gunsmoke Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Often these parts are so hard to ID because they are essentially useless cosmetics. The Big 3 were always trying to outdo each other with doodads to help in marketing their land yachts. In this case, if the "bombs" were intended to help protect the bumper, does anyone think they actually worked? At least the vertical bumper bars helped prevent higher bumpers from over-riding the bumper and damaging the trunk area. These Bombs??? Oh well what's another 20 lbs.
