nzcarnerd Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 This picture of the Knickerbocker Theatre on Washington DC from October 1917 appeared on Shorpy a few days ago. I was curious about what the car on the right might be. It looks to be a 'sporty' low-built' chummy roadster with unusual head lights. http://www.shorpy.com/node/5701#comments
Craig Gillingham Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I think that's a 1917 Cadillac roadster, except the headlamp glasses don't fit. It's got Rudge-Whitworth wheels that Cadillac's had and weren't common on other US cars.
Leif Holmberg Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 As Craig G say,Cadillac 1917 it looks right. Leif in Sweden.
Brass is Best Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 The headlamp lenses appear to be aftermarket accessory.
Dave Henderson Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 The Knickerbocker theater's roof collapsed under a heavy snow load during show time back when, ('20's?) with tragic results.
